At the recent 49th Annual AGM for Link Vision, Graham Pampling was awarded a Life Membership.
Graham became a member of the Association in May 1988 when he was a resident for 1 year. He went on to become a Management Committee member in 1991, and admirably served until 2015; a period of 24 years!
Graham officially started a Computer Club for children with low to no vision in 2013 (now known as Link Education) and was a highly respected mentor until mid-2017. His dedication to furthering the education and employment opportunities for those with low or no vision, and other disabilities, is second to none, and he is well known throughout the sector for his services.
Graham also funded the Braille Trail adjacent to the Link Vision Brisbane office and pedestrian walkway at Cameron Street.
Our Link Education program now has 57 students weekly and this is supported with no external or government funding for our three mentors who are teaching keyboard and computer skills to students in schools each week. We aim to continue growing our Educational programs and rely on funds and donations from all avenues of Link Vision fundraising as well as our chain of Op Shops.
