This year’s Op Shop Pop Up Bonanza in King George Square was a huge success!
Twenty volunteers kindly gave up their time to support us on the day with over 200 hours dedicated, with many more devoting additional hours over and above to help get us ready for the event.
Held Friday 2 August, the event was an all-day affair, running from 9am until 9pm with over 2,300 items sold.
Over $12,000 was raised through sales and donations which goes directly towards helping us expand our Computer Club, funding up to an additional 15 students over the year.
Our Computer Club mentors help children with low or no vision keep up with their peers by building skills and confidence with a keyboard, including learning how to touch-type.
Link Vision initiatives, including independent accommodation for residents with low or no vision and the Computer Club are entirely funded by direct donations and through turnover from our network of Op Shops.
We would not be able to continue to provide vital services without the kind and generous support of our employees and volunteers.
